Following a successful funding application to the Heritage Lottery fund, Gravesham Borough Council is embarking on a restoration project on the statue of Queen Victoria which stands within the town’s covered market.

The project will involve professionally cleaning and repairing the statue along with the creation of tactile bronze interpretation panels.

Visual artist Wendy Daws will be working with the Kent Association for the Blind Gravesend Art Group to determine which elements of the statue will be featured within the tactile interpretation panels. The project will also host a number of community workshops, talks and walking tours.

Information on the development of the project will be added here along with dates of community workshops and information sessions.
